World's ugliest dog dies weeks after winning title

Zsa Zsa, the floppy-tongued bulldog from Minnesota who won the World's Ugliest Dog contest just last month, has reportedly died.

The owner of the dog, Megan Brainard said that passing away of Zsa Zsa is devastating for him and the whole grieving process is very hard. He says she appeared fine the day before, so it was a shock. "It's kind of like when she won [the World's Ugliest Dog contest]".

"Looks are deceiving, some thought she looked scary, but she was the most gentle dog", said Larson.

However, Zsa Zsa spent over half of her life in a puppy mill before she was rescued by a non-profit organisation and adopted by Ms Brainard.

Zsa Zsa was known for her protruding teeth and especially long tongue.

Just a few weeks ago, Zsa Zsa won the hearts of judges in Petaluma, California, when she earned the top prize at the 2018 World's Ugliest Dog contest - and $1,500 for Brainard. "We take millions of pictures in my family, so now we have her face everywhere to remind us of her", added Brainard. We were all saying our goodbyes and Mareslie went right over and gave her a kiss. Zsa Zsa bested a terrier with dreadlocks named Scamp to take home the win.

"She's so lovely - ugly", Ms Brainard said after winning the title against some stiff worldwide competition.

She was laid to rest by owners Megan and Jesse Brainard and 15-month-old daughter Mareslie at the family home.
