Royal Family steps out for Prince Louis' christening

The Queen Mary's Floret Earrings, Her Majesty has been pictured wearing on very special occasions, were gifted to Queen Mary as a wedding gift from Sir William Mackinnon in 1893, and subsequently inherited by the monarch following her death in 1953.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex - Prince Harry and Meghan Markle - were also present at the ceremony.

However, Prince Louis's great grandparents - Queen Elizabeth II and the Duke of Edinburgh - were not be able to attend the ceremony.

PRINCESS Charlotte issued a cheeky remark to royal snappers as she stole the show for the second time today at Prince Louis' christening.

The event was the first time the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge appeared publicly with all three of their children.

'She loved all the old classics and Harry had the brilliant idea of starting a little library of first editions for Louis, Charlotte and George to enjoy as they get older.

The christening of Prince Louis of Cambridge is now ongoing today, July 9, at The Chapel Royal, St James's Palace.

Kensington Palace announced earlier today that Louis will have six godparents, including some of William's oldest friends business developer Nicholas van Cutsem, businessman Guy Pelly and Harry Aubrey Fletcher, alongside Lady Laura Meade, and Kate's school friend Hannah Gillingham and her cousin Lucy Middleton.

The cream lace and white satin robe is a replica of the robe made for Queen Victoria's eldest daughter in 1841, which is now too delicate to be worn.

They were joined by Prince Charles and the Duchess of Cornwall.

Following the 40-minute service, The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge gave a private tea at Clarence House. When Prince Louis was born she tickled everyone with her confident waving at cameras as she strolled up the steps of the Lindo Wing.

From the duchess's side, Kate's parents Michael and Carole, brother James, pregnant sister Pippa and her husband James Matthews were there.
