Pick your England XI for Croatia semi-final

England have made their way to the semi-finals of the World Cup, the first time they have done so since Italia 1990.

The Spurs ace scored his first goal of the competition on Saturday afternoon as he headed home Jesse Lingard's cross to seal a 2-0 win against Sweden, and fans will be hoping that it sparks improved performances after a disappointing tournament to date.

Finally, have your say on how far you think England will now go in the World Cup?

Despite a comfortable run through their group, Croatia has had a tougher ride in the knockout rounds, needing extra time and penalties to eliminate both Denmark in the round of 16 and then hosts Russian Federation in the last four.

Croatia, however, may not have the luxury of naming an unchanged side, with several key players missing training on Monday.

Lovren has been a defensive rock for Croatia at this tournament, however, and with his partner Domagoj Vida will be confident of shackling Kane and preventing him from adding to his tally of six goals at the tournament.

Goalkeeper Danijel Subasic tweaked an existing hamstring problem in the closing stages of Croatia's win over Russian Federation, though played on regardless and even made a crucial stop in the penalty shootout.

But he is certainly well aware of the threat that Croatia pose in the centre of the field.

While the set piece has been England's most decisive weapon on their run to the semi-finals, and they won a penalty shootout to beat Colombia, Croatia will feel they have the edge if the match remains deadlocked after extra time.

In contrast, Zlatko Dalic's team has been sharing the goals out fairly evenly, with main striker Mario Mandzukic having hit the back of the net just once so far.

"They of course have a very strong midfield so, (it is about) denying them space and making sure awareness of distances and coverage of the pitch is correct and (knowing) the right moments to press". Victory would see them return to the same venue to face either France or Belgium in the final.
