George Clooney suffers minor injuries in Italy scooter crash

Clooney is in Sardinia to film a miniseries based on Joseph Heller's book "Catch 22", the news agency said.

George Clooney has reportedly been released from an Italian hospital after being involved in a motor accident on Tuesday, July 10.

George reportedly felt "a slight trauma to the pelvis and bruises to one leg and an arm", and was given an MRI at the nearby John Paul II hospital, according to local outlet, La Nuova.

Local daily La Nuova Sardegna said the 57-year-old Clooney had been headed to a film set on Tuesday when his motorbike was hit by a vehicle.

"The moped hit the auto and Clooney sprawled across the bonnet of the vehicle, colliding with the windscreen, which cracked".

In the hospital, he was joined by his wife Amal and they left the venue together in a private auto. AGI said part of the road was closed following the incident.

Even earlier in June, Clooney was seen zipping around the island on a scooter with Amal, 40, hugging him tightly.

Italy is an important place for Amal and George.

Clooney has a home with his wife, human rights lawyer Amal, on the Italian mainland, on Lake Como.
