Being a flagship smartphone, the Asus Zenfone 5Z comes with high-end specifications. The Zenfone 5Z comes with Qualcomm's flagship Snapdragon 845 chip under the hood coupled with the Adreno 630 GPU and runs on Android 8.0 Oreo with Asus' ZenUI 5.0 on top.

We would be compelled to give OnePlus 6 a thumbs up on the camera and battery compartment, but the Zenfone 5Z would fair far behind in all the aspects, including the camera.

It is not the first time Asus has surprised with its pricing. There is also support for face unlock as well as some AI features baked into the camera.

For photography, the phone comes with a 12MP + 8MP dual rear-camera setup with Sony IMX 363 Sensor and an aperture rate of f/1.8. It has a 6.59-inch amoled display giving it a screen to body ratio of 91%. The phone has a secondary 8MP shooter which has f/2.2 aperture and 120-degree field-of-view. The phone is capable of recording 4K videos at 60fps. Connectivity options include Dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi (2.4GHz + 5GHz), Bluetooth 5, GPS, 3.5mm audio jack FM Radio, and USB Type-C port. The smartphone will be exclusively available for purchase through online retailer Flipkart, with which the company has entered into a partnership earlier this year. The phone is expected to be launched with 6/8GB RAM and 64/128/256GB storage options.

The Asus Zenfone 5Z comes in three variants - 6GB RAM + 64GB storage, 6GB RAM + 128GB storage, and 8GB RAM with 128GB storage. Flipkart is also providing a few launch offers along with the device like no-cost EMIs. Flipkart has launched a dedicated page where one can opt to be notified of the device's availability by clicking on the "Notify Me" tab.

The smartphone has various artificial intelligence (AI)-enabled features such as the AI-enabled camera which can distinguish between 16 scenes, AI-assisted fast charging which prolongs the battery life by twice as much as a regular smartphone, adaptive ringtone which automatically adjusts the ringer volume to high, medium or low depending upon ambient noise levels. The company has scheduled a launch event in Delhi where it will unveil the device. Reliance Jio users also get a total of 100GB data on 10 recharges (10GB each month).
