Trump says Cavs, Warriors won’t be invited to White House

Warriors players indicated after winning the championship in 2017 that they would not go to the White House, then as they were set to meet as a team to formally decide, Trump rescinded the invitation.

"When somebody says they don't want to come to the White House, he disinvites them so the photo op don't look bad. It won't be Cleveland or Golden State going", James said, according to ESPN, which wrote that the remark was made in an off-day news conference before game 3.

Earlier this week, members of both National Basketball Association teams - and especially James - ripped Trump over his decision to disinvite the NFL's Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles from the White House.

James added that Trump's decision should not take away from the Eagles' success. I know no matter who wins this series, no one wants the invite anyway. It won't be Golden State or Cleveland going [to the White House]. He said that there is more to the conversation than just disagreeing with Trump and his policies, including how some National Football League players are continuing to kneel for the anthem.

Trump said he would ask athletes to give him names of people who they feel have been treated unfairly by the criminal justice system and he would consider pardoning them or commuting their sentences.

Many members of the U.S. Olympic Team that competed earlier this year in South Korea did not attend a White House reception.

The 2018 Super Bowl Champions, the Philadelphia Eagles, like the Warriors, were also not invited to the White House.

"But we have other teams that are coming", Trump said. We did something last season that was very special.

"Going to the White House is considered a great honor for a championship team".

"I think we'll have the Caps", Trump said.

Stephen Curry, who's LeBron's opposition on the court, is on board with him on the anti-Trump train. "You shouldn't go in a locker room when our national anthem is playing", he said. But we already knew the Warriors and the Cavaliers weren't going to go.
