The Stands : New Zealand make the highest ODI total of all time

In the first match of the series, Suzie Bates-led New Zealand Women record highest ever total in the history of ODI cricket. Bates' tally of 151 (off 94 balls; 24 x fours, 2 x sixes) was her second highest innings in this format and the 10 century of her global career. England hold the record for the highest score in the men's game when they amassed 444/3 in 50 overs against Pakistan at Nottingham on August 30, 2016.

The New Zealand women's cricket team has made history.

The White Ferns shattered a 21-year-old record that they previously set when they scored 455 for five against Pakistan at Christchurch back in 1997.

Ireland were bundled for 144 in response, giving New Zealand a mammoth 346-run victory, the fourth biggest win in terms of runs.

Having been injured earlier in the day, Isabel Joyce was unable to bat as New Zealand wrapped up the victory in the 36th over.

Amelia Kerr and debutant Jess Watkin also chipped in with half-centuries for the White Ferns. She scored 151 off just 94 balls. After Watkin's knock came Green and slammed 15 boundaries adding up to the New Zealand's wonderful start.

Bates 151, Green 121, Kerr 81.

Bates, who was on 89 off 59 balls then, went on to score her 10th ODI hundred, off only 71 balls. Also, leg-spinner Cara Murray, who was playing her first ODI, conceded 119 runs in her 10 overs. Notably, this match was played on the same pitch where New Zealand had chased down 137 in 11 overs without losing a wicket on Wednesday. She had dismissed captain Laura Delany (37) and Jennifer Gray (35) - the only two Ireland batsmen to pass 20.

Meanwhile Gaby Lewis, Lara Maritz and Louise Little all gave away 92 runs off their 10 overs as the hosts conceded 110 from the final 10.
