Reported Killed in Missile Attack in Saudi Arabia

The Saudi-backed Yemeni forces continued to make ground advancement during the battles with Houthis on Yemen's west coast near the Hodeidah Airport.

The officials spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to brief the media.

Malki also commented on the Houthis' launch of four ballistic missiles towards Saudi Arabia during the past two months, adding that one of these missiles fell in Yemen.

"An assault on Hodeidah will unleash shocking brutality on 170,000 children that call the city home, and sever a vital supply line for millions more across", the charity tweeted.

Yemen relies on imports for 90 percent of its food, and 70 percent of the imports transit through Hodeida, Lowcock told reporters after briefing the council.

The worldwide aid group Oxfam said humanitarian organizations received warnings over the weekend for staff to evacuate Hodeida by Tuesday ahead of an offensive.

"While the United Nations and other humanitarian agencies are reconfiguring their presence it's also our planned intention though to stay and deliver". "But if Hodeidah city is attacked it might be hard as we can't risk sending our staff to the frontline". "We are working with very largely numbers of Yemeni organizations and individuals".

US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said in a statement that he had spoken with Emirati leaders and urged them to work with the United Nations to ensure "the free flow of humanitarian aid and life-saving commercial imports" through Hodeida.

"I hope that there will be a way to avoid the military confrontation in Hodeida", Guterres told reporters.

Hodeidah is a critical point for nearly 80 percent of aid entering Yemen, which is in a situation the United Nations has called the world's worst humanitarian crisis. The Saudi-led coalition faces widespread worldwide criticism for its airstrikes in Yemen that kill civilians.

"The Coalition condemns such threats posed by Houthi militias, underscores the importance of enforcing the humanitarian and global law as regards the protection of relief personnel and workers in embattled zones", he said.

The Saudi-led coalition has been fighting the Iranian-allied Houthi rebels since March 2015. The coalition aims to restore the government of self-exiled President Abed Rabbo Mansour Hadi.

The three-year stalemated war has killed more than 10,000 people and displaced more than three million.

The conflict has left almost 10,000 people dead in Yemen, already the Arab world's poorest country. The assistance provided by King Salman Centre for Humanitarian Assistance and Relief Aid as part of the comprehensive humanitarian operations in Yemen have benefited 4,791,792 Yemeni citizens.
