Martial wants out of Old Trafford

Martial joined United as a teenager who, at the time, was touted as a potential future Ballon d'Or victor.

The 22-year-old has fallen out of favour in his two seasons under Jose Mourinho, starting less than half of United's Premier League fixtures during that period.

Speaking about Martial's future away from Old Trafford, the United star's agent Lamboley said: "After thinking about all the factors and possibilities, Anthony wants to leave Manchester United".

Cape Town - Anthony Martial wants to leave Manchester United, according to his agent.

While the comments from Martial's agent fall short of an official transfer request, they are a clear indication that the forward who missed out on a place in France's World Cup squad this summer has decided he needs a fresh start in his career.

On Wednesday night, his representative, Philippe Lamboley, insisted that "the time has come" for the player to move on.

Tottenham have a long-standing interest in Martial, Sky Sports News understands, but Lamboley insists United will have the final say on whether he stays or goes this summer. I think he has done his best for three years and it is important to remember that he scored 11 goals and made 10 assists in five months of last season.

Philippe Lamboley, director of USFA management, has told French media that United do not want to lose the France worldwide but have not found an agreement with him over a new contract.

"Anthony is disappointed because he has shown his love for the club and the supporters for three seasons".

"Anthony has the choice, I cannot say anything on the subject at the moment but you think that from the moment a player like Anthony is on the market a lot of clubs are interested".

Across three seasons at Old Trafford, the French winger has become something of a fan's favourite but hasn't kicked on since a flying debut campaign under Louis van Gaal. "All I can say is that many coaches appreciate his talents and many clubs are proposing their projects", he concluded.
