England aim for World Cup quarter-finals

If England are able to find a way past the 2014 World Cup winners, Euro 2016 champions PORTUGAL would be next on the menu, if results were to go according to world rankings.

"They have some talent, have a real desire and determination to play for England and are determined to play in a style that people are warming to and are enjoying watching".

Johan Svanstrom, president, Hotels.com brand, said: "We aim to provide really rewarding experiences for customers in our business and, through this relationship, we look forward to rewarding Spurs fans wherever they follow the club".

The most recent shoot-out defeat at a World Cup came in 2006 against Portugal, when Frank Lampard, Steven Gerrard and Jamie Carragher all missed from 12 yards as England exited the tournament at the quarter-final stage.

We've counted down the weeks and now only days remain before England take to the field at the 2018 World Cup.

It only seems fitting then, that during this summer's World Cup, the FA will be broadcasting an all access, interactive show, "The Lions' Den".

He said: "I've talked before about there being a disconnect between the supporters and the team - and I've felt that there's different ways to bridge that".

"We definitely don't have that divide in the team any more".

Kane, who will captain his country at the tournament, acknowledged that England have been "passive" and have focused too much on avoiding defeat in previous tournaments. Sometimes going into a big tournament is about not losing and being passive but, for us, it's about playing attacking football.

"We played a behind-closed-doors game in France [at the 1998 World Cup] with Glenn [Hoddle] against local opposition, which I thought worked quite well".

Screening every day from the World Cup, the show will give viewers unprecedented access from inside the team base camp.

"But we are seeing that this is a team who is enjoying each other's company, getting on well and are very proud to represent their nation".
