Chazelle's First Man, Official Trailer #1

First Man, the riveting story of NASA's mission to land a man on the moon, focuses on Neil Armstrong and the years 1961-1969.

As the poster shows, Claire Foy is billed alongside Gosling, playing Neil's wife, Janet Armstrong. For First Man, he's packing him into a rocket and sending him to the moon.

Ryan Gosling and Jimmy Kimmel dress up in spacesuits for an interview in outer space, well actually a soundstage in Los Angeles, for an episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live on Friday (June 8). We see Armstrong getting off the space capsule to earn the title of 'First Man on the Moon'. The first trailer is online. Kyle Chandler, Corey Stoll, Jason Clarke and Brian d'Arcy James are also part of the cast, among others.

Ryan Gosling takes on First Man, based on the book First Man: The Life of Neil A. Armstrong by author James R. Hansen, which was published by Simon & Schuster in 2005.

One reporter asks him his thoughts of how he would go down in history for his achievement, "if this flight is successful".

The film shows everything experienced by Armstrong from his days of training for the unsafe mission, to how it affected his family life, right through to the actual experience of the journey. "There are risks but, we have every intention of coming back", Gosling's Armstrong replies.

So far, the Best Picture race appears to be MAJOR SLIM PICKENS so First Man will be like that first hunk of meat thrown to starving lions.
