Rapper TI arrested outside his gated community

According to WSB-TV (Atlanta), T.I. asked the guard, "Don't you know who I am?" He has already been released without bail by the Henry County Police Department. The rapper was charged with public drunkenness, simple assault and disorderly conduct.

He also said T.I.'s wife, Tameka "Tiny" Harris was on the phone with him and told the guard to let them in. In a statement to 11Alive he wrote, "Tip was wrongfully arrested early this morning when he attempted to gain entrance into his gated community - where his wife "Tiny" and his family reside". T.I. described the local law enforcement as "white cops in a very white area" and believes he got locked up by them for "being an affluent African-American celebrity".

It's not the first time T.I. has run afoul of authorities. 'With all we been through this is small potatoes, man'.

T.I. has since been released after posting bond, the AJC reported. Also, the guard's 911 call and jailhouse surveillance footage has surfaced - all as the rapper's lawyer is alleging "wrongful arrest" and saying Tip was never given the opportunity to tell his side of the story before police took him into custody.

Eventually, Tip was let in, but then allegedly returned to the security shack and got into another argument with the guard.

He additionally spent about 10 months in federal jail on a probation violation in 2010 after he was arrested on drug fees in Los Angeles. A neighbor has stepped forward to defend Tip after he found himself in handcuffs this week following an altercation with their gated community's security. According to the police, Tip's friend had a warrant out for his arrest. "Ain't been to sleep, but guess what, God is good all the time", he continued. He says he reminded the guard, "I pay you" ... and then demanded entry again. He lent his celebrity to politics, loudly supporting Atlanta Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms, who later appointed him and fellow rapper Killer Mike to her transition team.

Despite T.I.'s arrest Wednesday, the rapper has stayed out of trouble for the past several years.
