Nokia 7 Plus gets the promised 4G VoLTE support for both SIMs

While 4G VoLTE support in the first SIM is common, most companies do not enable 4G VoLTE in the second SIM.

A new update called V2.2A is being rolled out over the air (OTA) with VoLTE support for the second SIM and some other features like better system stability and minor changes to the user interface.

At launch, the phone had support for 4G VoLTE in one SIM slot, while the other SIM supported only 3G.

The Nokia 7 Plus, however, is much cheaper in India. This update also brings the May Security Patch. But, we expect that an upcoming update will bring Face Unlock for the phone. Users of the Nokia 7 Plus can check for the new update by diving to Settings Software Update. Based on an image from Fonearena, the update is 441MB in size, so we recommend doing it on a Wi-Fi network. It features a 6-inch full HD+ display with an aspect ratio of 18:9.

To recall the specifications of the Nokia & Plus, the smartphone is powered by a Snapdragon 660 SoC under the hood coupled with 6GB RAM and 64GB of inbuilt storage space. There is a 3800mAh battery with support for fast charging. As great as the phone is in terms of design, performance and software, the lack of dual 4G VoLTE support was something a lot of consumers felt was missing. The phone runs Android 8.1 Oreo out-of-the-box amd is part of the Android One program which means timely Android security updates for two years and a promise that it will get Android P and Android Q in the future. Both front and back cameras are equipped with Carl Zeiss lenses. The Nokia 7 Plus comes with a dual-rear camera module comprising of a 12MP primary sensor with f/1.75 aperture and wide-angle lens and a 13MP secondary sensor with 2x optical zoom and f/2.6 aperture.
