Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp keeps focus on Brighton amid Real Madrid talk

Jurgen Klopp has a big challenge this weekend in keeping his Liverpool players focused on Brighton and Hove Albion as there is a bigger game just around the corner, and the bigger game is none other than against Real Madrid in the UEFA Champions League final.

"And about the question, if it is better for Salah to stay at Liverpool or transfer himself to another league, I think all the media are talking about Real Madrid or Barcelona".

"We need to be completely focused on this game", Klopp said.

"The situation, especially for a place in the Champions League, is not in our hands". The Reds faced Middlesbrough on the final day a year ago in a very similar position and ended 3-0 victors. Most interest is likely to be directed towards the top of the table where next season's Champions League representatives will be decided.

If Real Madrid wins the final, it will be easy to say that they have had a flawless season even though they have failed to win the La Liga this season.

This season Liverpool's task has been made easier by Chelsea's midweek draw with Huddersfield, a result that leaves the Blues two points behind Klopp's side with a vastly inferior goal difference.

"This is our first season in the league and so we are learning still, we're trying to improve as much as we can, and we will try to add to the squad in the summer". The basis is obviously good because if we win against Brighton we are in the Champions League.

"We have to take it like it is and make the best of it, like it always is".

'That's what we [have] said before, nothing is decided, it's open.

So good in fact has Salah's first season back in England been that people are considering whether he could win the Ballon d'Or, an award that has been duopolised by Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo for the past 10 years.

Asked what he rated as his biggest achievement with Arsenal, Wenger said: "I would say from 2006 to 2015 it was certainly the period where I needed to be the strongest".

"I do not have a lot of skills but one discipline I learned early on was to concentrate fully on the next step, because in football if you don't you can fall flat on your face". The former Lille star has spent six years at the Stamford Bridge and has been a great impact for the club winning two Premier League titles and one Europa League trophy.

The Seagulls have only won two away games all season in the league - the last of which came back in November.

Now City head to Southampton looking to cap their memorable season by securing the win that would give them 100 points.
