A $550 iPhone is coming to shake things up

Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo of KGI Securities has today issued a new investor note in which he offers up additional details on this year's iPhone refresh.

Although Kuo's track record is excellent, I would be surprised if Apple priced a dual-SIM model a hundred bucks more than an otherwise identical single SIM model.

Here's what the 2018 iPhone lineup may look like. Then again, maybe the potential gains would be worth the risk for Apple. Recently, analysts from UBS said the price of the upcoming iPhone X 2018 model will be more than the current generation handset. the price of the 2018 iPhone X smartphone could hit $1100 mark, which roughly converts to Rs 72,100.

Apple's upcoming 6.1-inch iPhone might be surprisingly cheap

AppleInsider reports that due to the last-minute addition of dual-SIM support, mass production of the 6.1-inch LCD iPhone will begin three to five weeks after the manufacturing of the rumoured OLED iPhone versions. Dual-SIM phones are popular in developing markets, including countries in Africa, South America and parts of Asia and aren't typically more expensive than their single SIM counterparts.

For those of us who don't want to drop the maximum amount of cash possible on a product that will only last a few years before needing to be replaced, the new 6.1-inch LCD iPhone could be the relatively reasonably priced Android alternative we've been waiting for. A previous report, citing Kuo's prediction, claimed that instead of combining LTE and 3G connectivity, the iPhone maker is in plans to add support for two LTE networks consequently to its dual-SIM model.

Kuo's note explains that the 6.1-inch LCD iPhone could be available in two models: one with a standard single SIM setup and another with dual SIM dual standby, which could mean having two physical SIM card slots and no eSIM support. Let us know what you think of the upcoming iPhones in the comments!
