The report found that the five healthiest localities in the state were: Loudoun County, Arlington County, Fairfax County, Falls Church and Poquoson. "Our county's strong partnerships and investments to prevent and reduce chronic diseases such as diabetes, infant mortality, domestic violence, the opioid epidemic and trauma will continue to build greater resiliency and our community's health over time".

The Rankings rely on a robust set of data and analysis that allows counties to see what is making residents healthy or sick and how counties compared to others within the state.

The report includes health, social and economic factors, along with clinical care and health environment. The order changes when it comes to health factors: Collin, No. 1, Rockwall, No. 2 and Denton, No. 6. The healthiest county is right here in central Ohio-Delaware County. Orange County was ranked 15, and Leon County came in at 16.

David Plyler, the chairman of the Forsyth County Board of Commissioners, said the county could remain at its current ranking in the short term because "instant success is not always prevalent".

Jerome said that in addition to the data, the study provides resources for communities to improve their approaches to public health.
