Samsung adds 300 fix locations through partnership with uBreakiFix

Samsung Electronics America, the makers of the Galaxy line of smartphones, announced that more than 300 uBreakiFix stores have been authorized to fix its products.

The partnership won't cover every Galaxy phone ever made, but it does hit most Samsung flagship phones from the past four years: every Galaxy S flagship since the Galaxy S6, the Galaxy Note 5, and the Galaxy Note 8 are listed as eligible for same-day service from uBreakiFix off the bat.

That includes front and back replacements, including cracked and broken screens.

Both phones get a repairability score of 4 out of 10, with 10 meaning an easy fix.

"At Samsung, our goal is to provide Samsung Galaxy owners with a customer first care experience that is as innovative as our products", said Michael Lawder, Senior Vice President of Customer Care at Samsung Electronics America.

Currently, Samsung sells an extended warranty service called "Premium Care" that costs $12 a month and offers in-home support and extra coverage against accidental damages. An exception there is water damage, mind, which is a longer process. Each will use genuine Samsung parts, in addition to the specialist tools that the company has developed for its devices. The work will be done by Samsung-certified professionals. Alternatively, they'll be able to drop their Galaxy smartphone off without an appointment.

Samsung is certainly trying to maintain the same pace at which Apple provides its after-sales service but the California-based giant is far ahead of other companies in terms of phone maintenance and service availability.
