Patrick Robinson, Demario Davis choose to sign with Saints

As it turns out, it will be a one-and-done - Robinson is expected to sign a four-year contract with the New Orleans Saints, a source close to the situation speaking on the condition of anonymity confirmed to NJ Advance Media. The deal is reportedly worth $40 million over five years. After an up-and-down stint in New Orleans, he bounced around to San Diego in 2015, spent one year with the Colts in 2016, and last season with the Eagles. He finished out the year with 38 tackles, and tied his career-high of picks with four interceptions.

After a fabulous Super Bowl-winning season in Philly, it was somewhat assumed he would re-sign with the Eagles.

With that, Robinson reunites with the franchise that drafted him in the first round out of Florida State back in 2010.

Apparently re-signing Robinson wasn't as important as many were led to believe. Defensive Rookie of the Year Marshon Lattimore made an instant impact and Ken Crawley emerged as a solid starter.

With Darby immediately lining up on the outside, Robinson found a home lining up over the slot. His presence, along with fellow former Saint Malcolm Jenkins, was critical for an elite Eagles defense that dominated throughout their title-clinching campaign.

Cornerback Patrick Robinson is returning to where his career began. The Saints are making aggressive moves as they try to stay competitive in a deep NFC South.
