Mega Drive Classics are heading to PC, PS4, and Xbox One

50 Sega Genesis games will be coming to Xbox One and PlayStation 4 as part of the Sega Genesis Collection - a library of Sega Genesis classics that was accidentally revealed by Sega.

This collection included a bevy of SEGA classics, as well as a few unlockable SEGA Master System and arcade games.

Nevertheless, that doesn't mean a SEGA character won't appear in the upcoming Super Smash Bros for the Switch, wherein Knuckles makes our crossover wishlist.

A similar collection was released in 2009 for Xbox 360 and PS3: Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection. Games in the trailer include Sonic, Golden Axes, Space Harrier. Concerning this accidental leak and date, a Sega spokesperson stated, "the gun was jumped a little bit there..." It won't be for while yet, given how long Sega has been around as a company, but its inevitability is quietly depressing.

The early portion of the video includes the same awesome 3D interactive bedroom featured in the SEGA Mega Drive and Genesis Classics Hub, which was released on Steam in 2016.

We've seen countless collections like this launched over the years, so at the moment, it's unknown if this is a port of an existing compilation or if it's one that's entirely new.

Thank you Sega! This is so much better than having to buy miniature versions of consoles to enjoy the classic games we love.
