The online multiplayer gaming sensation that is Fortnite Battle Royale has come to mobile (well, some of them) taking it one step closer to what seems to be its nearly certain world domination.

Players hoping to play it will need to have at least an iPhone 6S/SE, or alternatively an iPad Mini 4, iPad Pro, iPad Air 2 or iPad 2017 devices.

The mobile version of Fortnite uses special indicators to help alert you to important in-game sounds even if you're not wearing headphones. If you're now playing Fortnite on iOS, look out for an email from Epic telling you that you have some invites to send out.

With all of Fortnite's on-screen controls, it can be hard to figure out how to actually reload. It's not that Epic doesn't want console cross-play, it's more that Microsoft and Sony have to come to some sort of agreement before it happens.

Epic has made sure that multi-platform teams will only be pitted against other multi-platform teams to keep things more fair. You have to make momentary aiming pauses to fire a weapon, and I ended up resorting to strafing more than aiming in the heat of a firefight.

Not only is Fortnite making huge inroads in the PC / console market, but it's racking up some incredible numbers on mobile as well. All the features are there and you'll get the same map and same updates.

While playing on a touchscreen isn't awful, it still doesn't compare to a controller or a mouse and keyboard. They aren't available via the email sent to you.
