Heather Locklear evades felony charges after being 'combative, flailing, kicking' at police

The Ventura County district attorney charged actress Heather Locklear with four misdemeanors for last month's domestic violence incident in California, where she allegedly threatened to shoot responding police.

Sheriff's officials said Locklear kicked, pushed and shouted at deputies who were answering a report that she had been violent with her boyfriend February 26. We're told she will be charged with misdemeanor battery on a peace officer.

This undated booking photo provided by the Ventura County Sheriff's Office shows actress Heather Locklear. In a police report obtained by Global News, Locklear supposedly kicked and pushed one of the responding deputies out of her bedroom and yelled, "Get the f**k out of my house!"

No domestic battery charges were filed against the actress.

The officer said deputies had struggled to get Ms Locklear, a former star of USA soap opera Melrose Place, into a police patrol auto.

She was arrested on felony domestic violence charges against her current boyfriend Chris Heisser, which have since been dropped, but Locklear is still facing four counts of misdemeanour battery and one count of obstruction for resisting arrest when officers arrived to detain her.

TMZ reported last week that Locklear was so violent that police had to hobble her.

Locklear, 56, who is now in treatment at a medical facility, became belligerent with officers and was allegedly "combative, flailing, kicking" at officers as they tried to take her into custody.

A lawyer is expected to appear on Locklear's behalf at her first court hearing in Ventura County Superior Court today.

Locklear, a five-time Golden Globe nominee for roles in "Melrose Place" and "Spin City", has previously been married to Motley Crue drummer Tommy Lee and then Bon Jovi guitarist Richie Sambora.
