Eagles Re-Sign Nigel Bradham To 5-Year Deal

Looking at the other moves that have been made which include signing defensive tackle Haloti Ngata and trading for defensive end Michael Bennett, there is a good chance that Philadelphia's defense will be even better than previous year.

Bradham had 88 tackles for the Eagles in 2017, stepping into a starting role after Jordan Hicks was injured.

Over the last two seasons, Bradham led the Eagles in tackles (184), sacks (three), forced fumbles (three), passes defensed (13), and defensive snaps played (1,913) among all linebackers.

The deal could allow 28-year-old Bradham to spend the remainder of his career in Philadelphia.

"Nigel plays with tremendous energy and fire and has made a number of impact plays for us at the linebacker position", the team said in a statement. Keeping him here was a priority of ours and we are looking forward to his future here in Philadelphia.

While they were forced to release fellow tight end Brent Celek to open up cap space, Philadelphia continues to spending money on their defense. There's still a chance both could be with the team in 2018.

The Eagles had a tough task, and tough role to play Wednesday, as the official period for signing National Football League free agents and making trades came and went at 4 p.m.
