Arsenal stars look sharp in training ahead of crucial AC Milan showdown

Lacazette has been out since Arsenal's 1-0 defeat to Tottenham Hotspur last month which, of course, has caused a selection headache for Arsene Wenger.

Aaron Ramsey is hoping Arsenal fans will fill the Emirates again for Thursday's Europa League match against AC Milan after thousands of supporters stayed away from the previous two home games.

Arsenal finished in fifth place in the Premier League last term to miss out on a spot in the Champions League.

Nacho Monreal, Shkodran Mustafi and Hector Bellerin trained alongside their Arsenal team-mates on Wednesday in a timely boost for Arsene Wenger ahead of their Europa League last-16 second leg against AC Milan.

Wenger acknowledged that empty seats were a concern.

The money is huge with related commercial and matchday revenues adding to the equation and yet the importance of participation in the competition goes well beyond it, everyone knows, with player recruitment and the expansion of a team's fanbase in overseas markets amongst the many factors that are closely linked.

Wenger revealed some of his players underwent tests this morning but he only has Alexandre Lacazette missing through injury. They still, however, remain a long way from the dominant team they were over a decade ago.

Lacazette is recovering from minor knee surgery but is set to return after the global break.

Mkhitaryan moved to Arsenal as part of the deal that sent Alexis Sanchez to Manchester United in January and the Armenian has already established himself as a key figure in Arsene Wenger's troubled side. "He has the right to take that decision himself".

"We're always playing for the fans, it doesn't matter if they could have come today or not", Mkhitaryan told beIN Sports. They've turned a corner as well with their new manager.

"If you lose the first one then it's a massive game, like we faced in the [Carabao] Cup, you have more chances to lose the next one".
