Shining Resonance Refrain Is Getting A Draconic Launch Edition

The latest entry in the long-running Shining series, Shining Resonance Refrain, is coming to the West, and will land on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC this summer. SEGA marked the occasion with the release of a Shining Resonance Refrain trailer showing off the attractive remaster. It will feature improved graphics, bringing it up to 1080p resolution, and includes all the DLC for the original game.

With real-time action combat, it will be important to utilize each party member's unique abilities and strengths while deepening relationships with each character. As for the Japanese version of Shining Resonance Refrain it is due out for PS4 on March 29th, 2018. The game also features a new "what-if" scenario known as Refrain Mode, that adds on party members you didn't originally get in Shining Resonance.

Your party of Dragoneers wield Armonics, ancient weapon-instruments, and can perform mystical and powerful Rune Songs. Each song has a different effect on the battlefield, and the same songs can even have varying effects based on who you set as the center of the performance. It features a collectible metal slipcase, with character artwork of Excella, Sonia, and Kirika. (It's now on Game Preview on Xbox One and Early Access on Steam.) But, c'mon, building a sound and highly enjoyable strategy game isn't easy - and what's more, it looks like the team is finally headed towards the finish line.

As one last bonus, tune in this Friday 23 at noon PST to SEGA's Twitch channel to see a special first-look at this localized remaster. As it turns out, western Shining fans can pick the game up on their Xbox One, PC, or Switch as well.
