Here's How & Where to Watch Bangladesh vs Sri Lanka 1st T20I Online

Mendis made 53 off 27 balls. Bangladesh need to put up a decent score batting first if they have any plans to contain the in-form Sri Lankan batsmen.

Sri Lanka lethal attacking batsmen Kusal Perera, who was originally a part of the 15-man squad for the upcoming two-match T20I series against Bangladesh starting February 15, has now been ruled out following medical advice, confirmed Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) on Tuesday (February 13).

One could have been forgiven for being a bit dazed at the start of this game.

The first T20I between Bangladesh and Sri Lanka will start at 4:30pm IST, 5pm local time and 11am GMT.

Openers Kusal Mendis and Danushka Gunathilaka (30) made 53 in the first five overs to set the ideal platform for the visitors, and although debutants Nazmul Islam and Afif Hossain struck three times in quick succession, two fiery innings from Dasun Shanaka and Thisara Perera did the job for Chandika Hathurusingha's team.

Interestingly, Tamim Iqbal, who is the vice-captain for the Tigers in T20Is, was overlooked for captaincy yet again.

Also, opener Soumya Sarkar scored 51, his maiden half-century. Jeevan Mendis makes his first T20I appearance since 2013.

Sri Lanka crushed the host by 215 runs in a contest where the highest team total was 226, with the spinners taking 30 of the 38 wickets.

Shanaka's 42 came in 24 balls as he hit three fours and three sixes while Perera smashed fours and three sixes in a 18-ball 39.
