Epic Games Revises Future Cotent Map in Light of Recent Issues

Following Fortnite's recent record player count - and subsequent server issues - the team at Epic is dedicated to ensuring that such interruptions are not quite so common.

No matter which way you look at it, one thing remains clear: the competition between Fortnite and PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds in the Battle Royale-inspired multiplayer shooter genre is escalating.

Epic Games has continued to update and improve Fortnite with weekly updates, contributing to its ever-growing community.

"We're getting close to being able to test a significant optimization to our networking code that should get us closer to running the server at a solid 20 Hz even in the beginning of the match", Epic Games said on its latest statement. On Feb. 3 and Feb. 4, players reported problems with matchmaking, instant messaging, account retrieval and many other aspects of the game.

Epic Games has said that removed weapons will be stored in the vault and assured fans that they could return in the future.

Fortnite is available now in early access on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.

"Later this month we plan to add an optional 60 FPS mode for Battle Royale on consoles (PS4, PS4 Pro, Xbox One, Xbox One X)". This is a pretty cool feature if Epic can get it to work right, especially since the idea is to make it where there's minimal loss in visual fidelity while hitting 60 frames per second, consistently.

All new West Coast and Brazilian servers have been added to the Xbox version of the game, enabling better pinging for those within a certain region, and to offer different gamers in certain regions a more fruitful gameplay experience on home consoles.

Both the Tactical and Suppressed SMG's will remain in the game for players to use, with more information behind the decision revealed by the developer in a Reddit post.

Over in 50v50 news, Epic plans to introduce a bus for each team and enable more supply drops alongside the ability to see all squadmates on the map.

Epic also invoked a series of quality of life improvements they hope to introduce in the near future.
