Dana White: Floyd Mayweather should 'reciprocate,' fight Conor McGregor in UFC

That's the word from UFC president Dana White, who has often scoffed at the idea of a second boxing match between Mayweather and McGregor, but didn't seem to mind a rematch almost as much if it happens under mixed martial arts rules.

Given his age (40) and the fact he owns Mayweather Promotions, one of the most lucrative promotion firms in the sport, most pundits don't believe he'll take the risk of switching to MMA, where he would face one of the most skilled fighters in the UFC.

"Floyd said leading up to the fight with Conor that he would do both". "The only way making that fight again makes any sense is if he comes into the Octagon".

We previously told how McGregor splashed out €15,000 on a special golden bike.

Of course, Mayweather would be an overwhelming underdog against virtually anybody he would face in the UFC much less the lightweight champion in McGregor. "We'll see what happens".

Despite White's comments, Mayweather has insisted he didn't commit to a rematch on McGregor's turf.

At first glance, Floyd sounded pretty keen, telling a social media Q&A: "They just called me not too long ago and asked me to come back".

"I didn't say that". "If I want to, I can come right back to the UFC".

"Could and would do is different things".

The pair fought eachother in a boxing ring back in August 2017 with Mayweather winning via knockout, but speculation has risen over recent weeks with the undefeated boxer posting clips of himself inside an Octagon.

White said: "My soundings are that there are a lot of talks going on in the background, there are a lot of talks around people with Mayweather".

'There are a lot of talks about him potentially having an MMA fight with McGregor.

"I can do a three or four fight deal in the Octagon and make a billion dollars".

'McGregor in an MMA fight will f****** destroy Mayweather like he's never seen'.
