Chandrababu Naidu Tops List Of Richest CMs, Tripura's Manik Sarkar Poorest CM

Out of 31 CMs in India, 25 are crorepatis (with assets exceeding Rs 1 crore).

In terms of total assets, Chandrababu Naidu ranked at the top, with a total wealth of Rs 177 crores.

An assessment report released by the Association of Democratic Reforms (ADR) reveals Chandrababu Naidu of Andhra Pradesh as the richest chief minister of India, whereas, Manik Sarkar of Tripura as the poorest.

The analysis by the Association for Democratic Reforms (ADR) places Arunachal Pradesh CM PremaKhandu as the second richest CM, with Rs 129 crore assets and Punjab's Amarinder Singh as the third richest with assets worth Rs 48 crore.

Jammu and Kashmir CM have only worth Rs 55 lakh assets only. He is closely followed by Trinamool Congress leader and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, with assets worth Rs 30 lakh.


Speaking to reporters here on Monday, party spokesperson Vasireddy Padma said, Chandrababu Naidu's governance has been causing the similar damage as Hitler caused to Germany and the Chief Minister's hibernation for 12 days reminds one of the Duryodhana hiding in the pond due to fear of being defeated.

Meanwhile Tripura CM Manik Sarkar with just Rs. 26 lakhs proves to be a shame to the other crorepaties in the list. Only 10 percent have maximum studied till high school, while Sikkim CM P K Chamling is the only CM with a doctorate. Topping that list is Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis with 22 cases.

Out of the 31 CMs, 8 (26%) Chief Ministers have declared serious criminal cases including cases related to murder, attempt to murder, cheating and dishonestly inducing delivery of property, criminal intimidation etc.

"Out of the all 31 chief ministers analysed from state assemblies and Union territories, 11 (35 per cent) chief ministers have declared criminal cases against themselves", the ADR report noted.
