Bears to face Ravens in Hall of Fame Game on August 2

The other members of the Pro Football Hall of Fame Class of 2018 include Bobby Beathard, Robert Brazile, Brian Dawkins, Jerry Kramer, Randy Moss and Terrell Owens. They were scheduled to play the St. Louis Rams in 2011, but the National Football League lockout forced the cancellation of the game.

With this contest on the schedule, the Bears will play five preseason games as Matt Nagy prepares for his first season as the team's head coach.

The game is part of Hall of Fame weekend in Canton, and the Bears and Ravens were chosen to participate as their former middle linebackers Brian Urlacher and Ray Lewis will be enshrined into the Hall.

In a matchup of franchises with incoming Pro Football Hall of Famers, the Chicago Bears and Baltimore Ravens will play in the Hall of Fame Game on August 2 in Canton, Ohio.

This is Chicago's fifth appearance in the hall of fame game while Baltimore will be making its debut.

Harbaugh doesn't traditionally play his starters in the first and fourth preseason games anyway, meaning the team's top players likely won't be in action in Canton.

Both Urlacher and Lewis played their entire careers with their franchises so they expect a good turnout in Canton from both Bears' and Ravens' fans. The Bears beat the Ravens this past season, 27-24, in overtime at M&T Bank Stadium.

The festivities will mark the start of the NFL's 99th season. Tickets to the 2018 Hall of Fame Game and the enshrinement ceremony will go on sale Friday at 10 a.m. and will be available at profootballhof.com/tickets.

The announcement doesn't affect the rest of Baltimore's preseason slate.
