1-Inch LCD iPhone to Launch, Not iPhone/iPhone Plus Combination

1-Inch LCD iPhone to Launch, Not iPhone/iPhone Plus Combination

Comparatively, the current iPhone X features a 5.8-inch display and the iPhone 8 Plus has a 5.5-inch display.

According to new shipment projections from the prolific Ming-Chi Kuo of KGI Securities (via MacRumors), the Cupertino company will ship a staggering 100 million unit in the second half of this year, adding to expectations that the rumoured 6.1-inch LCD iPhone will be a massive success.

Apple has brought an abrupt halt to some new planned iPhone updates and features as it fears that due to the short deadlines the quality of the product may suffer. Nevertheless, given that it looks like a top-end iPhone in style, KGI believes the lower entry point will make it Apple's most popular 2018 device and see total sales around 100 million units. Kuo believes that Apple will cease production of this particular model in the summer. In fact, the rumors that Apple is planning to introduce more sophisticated versions of its Face ID technology in its 2019 iPhone lineup (complete with a smaller cutout in the display to accommodate the 3D sensing components) seem far more credible.

We know some hardcore iFans might be disappointed to hear this year's iOS 12 update is unlikely to bring many new bells and whistles to either iPhone X generation, but there's nearly no doubt Apple's decision to focus more on software stability and reliability is the right one.

Numerous issues have started to appear with Apple devices as more and more users are registering bugs and problems on their support forums, these range from, erratic auto-correct results, SMS messages out of sync, constant app crashes and the phone not ringing when someone is calling. That is, by analogy with X iPhone the new tablet will disappear and the traditional home button and bottom frame.

This would imply the 2018 iPhones will sell around 200 million units in their lifetime.
