YouTube Execs on Logan Paul Scandal: "Actions Should Speak Louder Than Words"

YouTube Execs on Logan Paul Scandal:

There was an immediately backlash of public outrage, and though the video was quickly taken down, the damage was done.

Almost two weeks after Logan Paul's infamous trip to Tokyo, Japanese police have announced that he could be charged with at least four different crimes after viewing his videos.

Noting that some of the streaming site's "very young" content creators "get themselves in hot water", Chief Business Officer Robert Kyncl emphasized that Paul-whose channel was pulled shortly after the scandal erupted-was basically a rare bad apple among a huge stable of creatives who are not terrible. In a tense executive session, Daniels and Kyncl explained their decision to halt Paul's projects as well as what steps they're taking to prevent similar situations like this from occurring with their young (and notoriously boundary-pushing) artists.

"It's insane - the haters think they're having an effect on us, and if the haters knew how much love was out there and how much support was out there, they'd shut their freakin' mouths", he said in an Instagram video. However Kyncl said, "Obviously we believe he's made unfortunate misssteps".

"Plus he's left video evidence, on his own YouTube channel", said a former police detective, according to the Daily Beast. "We don't know, we can't really answer that. everything is evolving so fast". "The best thing we can do is we put all projects on hold indefinitely, and there's no release dates scheduled for anything".

Daniels, speaking during YouTube's executive session, said the company will look to develop breakthrough, original scripted content that will reflect the network's attributes of innovation, community and diversity in a very crowded TV environment.

The video was viewed some 6 million times before being removed from Paul's YouTube channel, a verified account with more than 15 million subscribers.

"In December we issued a blog on that and forthcoming changes", Kyncl said.
