Warriors give up big lead before beating Raptors, 127-125

Updates with new lead.

The Warriors expect to have Stephen Curry back in the lineup Saturday, when they face the Toronto Raptors in a game that meets all the requirements of a shootout.

DeMar DeRozan top scored for the Raptors with 42. Golden State's 19 road wins are the most in the National Basketball Association.

Curry had averaged 30.2 points per game in 15 career meetings vs. Toronto heading in, the most by any player, ahead of Allen Iverson (29.7) and LeBron James (27.6).

"We expected that and we took that punch", Kevin Durant said of Toronto's comeback. "I'm not happy with a moral victory but we've got to can what we had in the second half. and play that way for 48 minutes". He participated in practice Thursday night in Milwaukee with no problems and lobbied to play Friday against the Bucks, but was held out for precautionary reasons.

Curry resprained his troublesome right ankle before the Warriors lost to the LA Clippers on Wednesday night.

Curry, who spent part of his childhood in Toronto when his father Dell played for the Raptors, got a massive ovation when he was introduced, but looked a tad rusty early following his layoff. "It's probably exactly where I was the last time I came back".

"It's just what it feels like, period".

For Toronto, point guard Kyle Lowry remained out with a bruised tailbone.

Curry finished with 24 points, Durant scored 25 and led the Warriors with 26.

"We were just getting lazy", coach Steve Kerr about his team's defense in the third quarter. "It's his first game back".

DeRozan's layup moved Toronto to within 121-119 with 2:08 left but Durant countered to give the Warriors a four-point lead. Toronto went on a 23-6 fourth-quarter run to shrink Golden State's lead to 116-115 with 3:54 left to play.

The out of bounds call was one of several decisions that had DeRozan fuming about the officiating. "Some of those calls were awful". They scored 43 first-quarter points, their most in an opening frame this season. It was the Warriors' biggest half of the season and their first 80-point half away from home since November 2, 1990, at Denver (87 points). "That slowed our pace down and when you're playing against a set defense every time no one is as good as when you can get out in transition and get a couple of easy baskets and then get the flow going".

Warriors: Golden State made eight of its first nine shots.

Other notable first-half stats: 22 Warriors assists, one turnover. They are 28-16 after starting the season off 17-13. F Omri Casspi missed his second straight game because of a sore lower back.

The Raptors average 11.9 second chance points per game, which ranks 19th in the league. Ibaka returned from a one-game suspension for throwing a punch at Miami's James Johnson in Tuesday loss to the Heat.
