Vodafone ₹458 and ₹509 prepaid plans revised: Here's what you get now

With the recent change in the 149 plan of Jio 4G, now all prepaid users can enjoy 1GB daily data usage with unlimited calling.

This is a promotional offer from BSNL which will offer its customers 2GB of free 3G data with a validity of 30 days. It has now taken the place of the more expensive Rs. 448 pack that offers a validity of 82 days, instead of the older 70 days. Airtel and Jio recently updated its plans to offer more data at cheaper prices.

All the plans will offer 100 SMSes per day. Another pack that is priced at a similar rate of Rs. 399 provides the users 1GB data daily with unlimited calls and 100 SMS and has an extended validity period of 56 days. The validity of this plan of Jio is 28 days.

In comparison to Airtel, Reliance Jio with its Rs. 398 pack offers 1.5GB high-speed 4G data per day (after 1.5GB Jio offers unlimited data at 64Kbps).


Trai's subscriber data showed Bharti Airtel, Vodafone India and Idea also registered gains in market share to 24.91%, 18.15% and 16.69% from 24.21%, 17.68% band 16.20% in October respectively.

Data Plans of Jio - The 198 plan of Jio is the first plan that offers 1.5GB daily data. The plan also offers 100 SMS per day. Plan 398 of Jio offers 105GB data for 70 days. Vodafone's Rs 509 will compete against Airtel's Rs 509 and Jio's Rs 498 plans. The total data in the 509 plan of Jio is 84GB and the validity is 28 days.

Newcomer Jio continued to steadily climb in terms of market share, taking it to 13.08%, up from 12.39% in October, 11.72% in September and 11.19% in August, as per data released by the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (Trai) Thursday.
