Vampire Chronicles Series Being Developed By Anne Rice And Bryan Fuller

"The rich and vast world she has created with The Vampire Chronicles is unmatched and sophisticated with '90s gothic undertones that will be perfectly suited to captivate audiences", Powell shared with Deadline previous year.

After departing the second season of Starz's American Gods adaptation, Bryan Fuller has moved on to become a part of The Vampire Chronicles, an adaptation of Anne Rice's novel series. "It's our great pleasure to officially announce that Bryan has become a member of the creative family working to bring the story of the vampire Lestat to television", he wrote, sharing a amusing anecdote about Fuller's longtime obsession with his mother's work.

Back in November 2016, rights to the characters of Anne Rice's Vampire Chronicles series of books had reverted back to the author who expressed her interest in turning her series into a TV show.

Christopher Rice announced the partnership Thursday in a lengthy Facebook post. "To his astonishment, the author, my mother Anne Rice, answered the phone herself when he called, and when this young man declared his intentions to adapt her book for the big screen, she gave him the number of the producer in Hollywood who owned the rights".

Rice's novels have been adapted to film before, first with An Interview with a Vampire in 1994 starring Brad Pitt, Tom Cruise and Kirsten Dunst and then in 2002 with Queen of the Damned starring Aaliyah and Stuart Townsend.

"The Vampire Chronicles" will soon pick out the cast after the Rice and Fuller finish writing the pilot.

Fuller will be teaming up with Paramount Television and Anonymous Content for the new television series. No network has been attached so far.

Fuller's involvement with the project was revealed by Amy Powell, president of Paramount Television and Digital Entertainment, in a wide-ranging interview with The Hollywood Reporter. The writer and producer is also attached to the development of "Amazing Stories" with Steven Spielberg for Apple TV, as announced in October.
