Queen Elizabeth's bra-fitter says book cost the company royal its warrant

Queen Elizabeth's bra-fitter says book cost the company royal its warrant

A company which supplied lingerie to Queen Elizabeth II has lost its royal warrant over a book that revealed details of royal meetings, United Kingdom media report.

She also revealed that Diana, Princess of Wales used to accept posters of lingerie and swim models for Prince William and Harry to put up on their walls at Eton. Currently, these companies are granted warrants for up to five years by either the Queen, Prince Philip, or Prince Charles.

Her book goes into detail about private fittings with the Queen, the Queen Mother, Princess Margaret and Lady Diana.

But it emerged yesterday that Mrs Kenton's long working relationship with the 91-year-old monarch ended shortly after she published her autobiography, entitled Storm in a D Cup, in March last year.

"Rigby & Peller is deeply saddened by this decision and is not able to elaborate further on the cancellation out of respect for her Majesty the Queen and the Royal Warrant Holders Association".

Buckingham Palace told i it never comments on individual companies in respect of Royal Warrants.

Kenton, who bought Rigby & Peller for £20,000 in 1982 with husband Harold, sold a majority stake in it for £8m.

Rigby & Peller had held what's called a Royal warrant as corsetiere to the Queen since 1960.

A royal warrant is a mark of recognition for those who supply specific goods or services to the Royal Household. The company has held a royal warrant since in 1960.

In one passage, she writes about "measuring the half-dressed monarch in front of her corgis", The Sun reports, while another portion recounts a conversation with the Queen Mother.

"I'm very sad Buckingham Palace took exception to the story - it's a kind and gentle story about what went on in my life", said Keller, according to the BBC.

Rigby & Peller must now remove the royal coat of arms from any promotional material and shop signs.

"Shall I tell you what I do?" she was quoted as saying.

"It is very sad for me that they didn't like it and I'm finding that very hard to accept".

"I'm coming towards the end of my life, I'm 82, so it is what it is, there is nothing I can do". She was surprised at the response as, in her mind, "The book doesn't contain anything naughty".

But the BBC understood that Prince Philip was angered by allegations made by owner Mohamed al Fayed accusing the Duke of masterminding the 1997 vehicle crash in Paris that killed Diana, Princess of Wales and his son Dodi.
