Prince of Persia creator is keen on resurrecting the franchise

Prince Of Persia has been dormant since the launch of Price Of Persia: The Forgotten Sands and Ubisoft has been very silent about if the franchise will ever see another entry, however, Price Of Persia creator is working to revive the franchise.

American video game designer Jordan Mechner was the original creator of the series, and was heavily involved in the 2013 film adaptation of Prince of Persia: Sands of Time. Mechner saw the tweet and responded himself, saying that other fans have asked similar questions and that he's trying his best to make it happen.

In the early 2000s, the Prince of Persia franchise was perhaps one of the most successful gaming franchises around, producing multiple games that were usually all received well by the fans and critics alike. "We're doing our best to make it happen!". Ubisoft Montreal - the studio which would most likely lead a new Prince of Persia title, says the series is still "on pause".

Mechner was behind the very first Prince of Persia which released way back in 1989, since that release Mechner has been working with Ubisoft to develop the series reboot from 2001. However, by the end of the PS3/Xbox 360 era, the series seemed to be put on ice and the Assassin's Creed franchise appears to have taken its place.

A new Prince of Persia has yet to be confirmed. Most of the games normally tend to have the same storyline where both Assassins and the Templars search for the Apple of Eden. Let us know in the comments.
