Police, tow truck driver escape crash caught on dashcam in Detroit

A tow truck driver barely escaped with his life after an out-of-control auto slid towards him on an icy road in the U.S. city of Detroit, Michigan. And if there's bad weather, be extra careful on the roads.

The video is wild, and should serve as a reminder to slow down when weather conditions are less than favorable.

The crash happened Wednesday on the ramp from southbound M-39 to eastbound I-96. They never made it. Police told Detroit Free Press that someone came down the ramp too fast, and lost control and hit the tow truck that had responded to the scene.

The tow truck driver was dealing with an accident while a state trooper in the dashcam vehicle was doing paperwork.

A tow truck driver is lucky to be alive after running into a busy MI freeway to avoid getting hit by an out of control auto.

Police did not release information on the condition of the driver who crashed.
