Patanjali inks agreements with key e-commerce players

Yoga guru Baba Ramdev's Patanjali Ayurveda is now on all major e-commerce platforms in its bid to reach out to more customers.

Patanjali Ayurveda's goods will now find on online websites, together with- PayTM Mall, Big Basket, Flipkart, Grofers, Amazon, netmeds, 1mg, Shopclues, and other all e-commerce hubs. The company, which announced agreements with several key e-commerce companies on Tuesday, said it aims to earn revenues of over Rs 1,000 crore through online sales this year. "Now all these platforms will make Patanjali's range of swadeshi products available to online buyers", Ramdev said in his twitter account. "At the same time, we will be launching Patanjali loyalty programme later this month at the exclusive brand stores".

Patanjali Ayurveda's Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer Acharya Balkrishna said the new mechanism would help the company's products reach people who prefer to use online platform for shopping more these days. Ramdev further said: "Our products are sold at around 15 to 20 lakh kirana stores and 75 per cent are still left to be covered. Now we are looking rural coverage also". He said the company had already done a successful pilot in December and had conducted online sales worth Rs 10 crore.


When asked about exports, Ramdev said that from the next fiscal export would start once its export oriented unit at Miha in Nagpur becomes operational.

Earlier, Patanjali had also announced to venturing into solar equipment manufacturing. "This will facilitate export of Patanjali products to the UAE, the US, Canada, Europe, South America, African countries besides others". Reports suggested that in 2016-17, Patanjali had crossed a turnover of Rs 10,500 crore.
