Meet 'Marvelous Mrs. Maisel' star Rachel Brosnahan, Golden Globe victor

"I want to thank our crew who turned NY into 1958 NY on a daily basis and nobody killed us or threw us out".

The Amazon series just picked up the Golden Globes for Best TV Series, Comedy - just a few awards after its star Rachel Brosnahan won Best Actress!

Sterling K. Brown, who won for best actor for his role in "This Is Us", similarly seemed distracted before launching into his acceptance speech.

Marvelous Mrs. Maisel centers on Miriam "Midge" Maisel, a 1958 New York City woman who has everything she ever wanted - a ideal husband, two kids and the flawless apartment in new York's Upper West Side.

The entire first season available to stream on Amazon. But her ideal life suddenly takes an unexpected turn when her flawless husband leaves, and Midge is left to chart a new course. Her whole life is turned upside down and the only thing that could help her through the chaos, is her talent for stand-up comedy. Sherman-Palladino and Daniel Palladino serve as executive producers.

Sherman-Palladino also spotlighted the stellar cast, singling out the main stars, Michael Zegen, Alex Borstein, Tony Shalhoub and Marin Hinkle, but specifically giving her leading lady special recognition: "Rachel Brosnahan, half-human, half-Tolkien character". Any wins of the streaming network lately are good with Amaozn's current slate of TV largely disappointed this year, other than The Grand Tour, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel and The Tick.
