Israel Approves More than 1100 New Settler Housing Units in West Bank

Two Palestinian teens were killed in clashes with the Israeli military on Thursday, Palestinian health officials said, in a wave of violence sparked last month when President Donald Trump recognized Jerusalem as Israel's capital.

Another 16-year-old, Amir Abd Abu Musaid, was killed in a border area in Gaza when Israeli troops opened fire on stone-throwing protesters.

Ali Omar Kino, also 16, was pronounced dead shortly after arriving at a Nablus hospital with a gunshot wound to his head, Ma'an also reported.

A Palestinian teen from the Gaza Strip was killed east of the Burij refugee camp after a live round was sacked into his chest, the Wafa news agency quoted medical sources as saying.

According to IDF estimates, some 850 Palestinians participated in clashes in 17 locations in the West Bank and more than 1,000 in four locations along the Gaza Strip's border with Israel.

Strict measures have been imposed on tens of thousands of Palestinians following the killing of an Israeli rabbi in a drive-by shooting in the West Bank this week.

More than 300 Palestinian children are now being held in Israeli military detention, estimated the EU Missions.

While welcomed in Israel, Trump's declaration was met with anger by Palestinians, with Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas saying the United States was no longer an honest broker in peace talks and the Gaza-based terror group Hamas calling for an intifada, or violent uprising.

It has been the largest incidence of fire from Gaza since the 2014 Israel-Hamas war. Israeli jurisdiction and ownership of Jerusalem, however, is not recognised by the worldwide community.
