HTC U11 EYEs leaks in full, Snapdragon 652 confirmed

Last month, it was reported that HTC is planning to launch just a handful of smartphones this year as it will focus on high-end and mid-range models. The Taiwan-based company's gearing up to release another smartphone in the U11 series - the U11 EYEs - that might be revealed as soon as January. As per speculation, it is expected that the company might launch the HTC U11 EYEs smartphone as tipped by popular tipster Evan Blass. It'll be available in black, a blue-tinged silver, and an eye-catching red. Also take note of the smaller bezels up front and the fingerprint sensor on the back, which is a welcome change in my EYEs (ha, pun). Its owners will be able to enjoy music on it by connecting headphones to its USB-C port.

Although the invite itself does not reveal the device's name or specifications, the accompanying text in Chinese does mention the word 'Eye, ' giving us a hint that the HTC U11 EYEs will be the phone launched at the event.

HTC U11 EYEs is said to feature a 6-inch FullHD+ (1080x2160 pixels) Super LCD3 display with an 18:9 aspect ratio, (judging by the image and the resolution).

Other specs include 64 GB of expandable storage, an IP67 rating for protection against water, and Edge Sense that lets you open an app of choice by squeezing the device. The device will reportedly come with 64GB internal storage which can be expanded further by adding a microSD card.

Under the hood, the HTC U11 EYEs is likely to be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 652 processor.

Unfortunately, the device is launching with Android Nougat, instead of Oreo, with an expected reveal date of January 15th.

Reports say the phone could land in Hong Kong, China, and HTC's home country Taiwan first, and then in other markets, including the U.S., as HTC Harmony.
