Florian Munteanu joins 'Creed 2' cast

Romanian boxer Florian Munteanu has signed on to play Michael B. Jordan's opponent in "Creed 2", TheWrap has learned. The film follows Adonis inside and outside of the ring - dealing with his new-found fame and family issues - as he continues his quest to become a champion. It was Drago who killed Adonis' father, Apollo (Carl Weathers), so expect the younger Creed to try and get his revenge on Drago's son.

"Congratulations to Florian " Big Nasty" Munteanu for getting the part as IVAN DRAGOS son! Stallone and Tessa Thompson, who starred in Creed, are also returning.

Munteanu will play the son of Ivan Drago, the ruthless Soviet boxer from Rocky IV, which was made at a high tension point during the 1980s Cold War.

Steven Caple Jr will direct from an original screenplay, written by Stallone and Cheo Hodari Coker based on characters from the "Rocky" franchise. Lundgren is also set to reprise role in "Creed 2". The film is being produced by Irwin Winkler, Charles Winkler, William Chartoff, David Winkler, and Kevin King-Templeton.

There was no question that a Creed sequel would happen: the 2015 film grossed $173 million worldwide, was acclaimed by fans and critics and even landed Stallone an Oscar nomination for Best Supporting Actor. The MGM/WB film is set for release on November 21, 2018. Here is a rundown of some of our most anticipated 2018 projects.
