Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze, Hyrule Warriors Coming to Nintendo Switch

Nintendo's Wii U was host to some damned good games - but the system was a bit of a failure.

There won't be almost as many bonuses with the port of Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze, though we will get to play as Funky Kong in a new game mode.

You've also got co-op play via the Switch's Joy-Con, so you can happily team up with a buddy wherever you are. The game features pretty much everything that you'd expect it to feature, being an nearly direct port from the Wii U version, but with one cool addition. Alternatively, the Tropical Freeze port could be Nintendo's way of giving Switch owners a Donkey Kong Country game so Retro can work on something else entirely. Donkey Kong will be exclusive to this brand new adventure, planned for release in spring 2018.

Set to launch on May 4 exclusively for Nintendo's hybrid console, Tropical Freeze will feature the original game alongside some nifty new content. Did you miss the game the first time around? This makes the Switch port all the more important, as it means that a much bigger audience has a chance to give it a shot.
