The Toronto Blue Jays and third baseman Josh Donaldson have agreed to a one-year deal for $23 million on Friday, setting a new record for arbitration-eligible players, according to multiple media reports.

-Arizona Diamondbacks left-hander Patrick Corbin agreed to a one-year deal worth $7.5 million. He will be eligible for free agency following the 2018 season.

Donaldson rebounded from an injury-slowed 2016 to hit.270 last season with 33 homers and 78 runs batted in over 113 games.

Donaldson, a three-time All-Star and 2015 AL MVP, could still get traded this offseason, but the Blue Jays have not appeared overly interested in moving their star slugger.

Bryce Harper set the previous record for an arbitration-eligible player when he signed a $21.65 million deal with the Washington Nationals for the 2018 season.

Donaldson has a.285 batting average with 111 home runs and 300 RBIs over three seasons in Toronto.

Loup, who made $1,125,000 in 2017, went 2-3 with a 3.75 ERA in 70 appearances and 57 2/3 innings.

Donaldson is one of nine arbitration-eligible Blue Jays, with the club announcing deals for Ezequiel Carrera ($1.9 million) and Aaron Loup ($1,812,500) on Friday morning ahead of the 1 p.m. ET deadline for exchanging proposed salaries.

-Detroit Tigers catcher James McCann, who hit.253 with 13 home runs and 49 RBIs last season, agreed to a $2.375 million salary for 2018.

Joining Pillar was third baseman Josh Donaldson, second baseman Devon Travis, and right-handed pitchers Dominic Leone and Aaron Sanchez.
