Barcelona midfielder, Arda Turan joins Istanbul Basaksehir on loan

FC Barcelona confirmed on Saturday that they have reached a deal with Turkish side Basaksehir to loan them Turkish global winger Arda Turan for the remainder of this season and for two more.

Basaksehir will pay Barca in variables dependent on a number of factors, including appearances and goals, as well as the team's success with Turan at the club.

The two-and-a-half-year loan deal, which is the remainder of his contract at Barcelona, still allows the Catalans to sell Turan during that period if a club makes an offer for him.

The Turkish global failed to make a single appearance under Ernesto Valverde this season and was linked with a move to Arsenal.

Turan left Atletico Madrid for the Nou Camp in 2015 and went on to win six domestic trophies during his time in Catalonia.

Turan lifted one top flight title, two Spanish Cups and a UEFA Super Cup during his stay with Barcelona but now moves on to pastures new with Super Lig side Basaksehir.

Basaksehir president Goksel Gumusdag said: "Arda is returning to his country wearing the orange kit".

The fourth-most capped Turkish player will also be hoping to return to his best for the national team after reversing his decision to retire from worldwide football in August.
