Alexis Sanchez does not travel with Arsenal squad amid transfer speculation

Jose Mourinho hinted at a Manchester United move for Arsenal star Alexis Sanchez, insisting that you must "fight" when a "fantastic opportunity" arises in the transfer market.

Manchester City are unwilling to pay more than £20m for the player whose deal at Arsenal expires in the summer, while title rivals Manchester United also want to sign the Chile global.

The Red Devils recently emerged as surprise contenders to sign the Arsenal forward, a supposed transfer target for rivals Manchester City.

Guardiola's bid to buy Sanchez collapsed at the end of the summer transfer window and City were favourites to land him this time around but the club are apparently unwilling to meet Arsenal's reported £35 million ($48 million, 39 million euros) asking price.

Mourinho is said to believe the arrival of Sanchez could solve two of the biggest weaknesses in his current squad which he claimed in December was in need of further reinforcements, despite having spent over £300m since replacing Louis van Gaal in the summer of 2016. While there is a no way to go before Malcolm is confirmed as an Arsenal player, based on his Instagram pictures showing him learn English its fair to say that the Brazilian will be making a move to the Premier League soon.

Mourinho indicated his interest in signing the winger from Arsenal this month and Ritchie is certain that Manchester United are keen to get their hands on the Chilean.

"Alexis is an exceptional football player, he's a world-class player and if that happens (and he leaves) we have to find a different balance in the team".

According to The Express, however, United fear that their interest in the striker is being used by the Gunners as a bargaining chip to get City to increase their £20m offer.

When asked if Ozil could remain at Arsenal, Wenger said, "Yes".

That form has helped propel Guardiola's side to the top of the Premier League and into the last 16 of the Champions League.

" It looks like Sanchez will not extend his contract. These guys want to win, and they want to make money as well".

Following the sale of Philippe Coutinho to Barcelona, earlier this week, the Anfield club have over £140 million at their disposal to add fresh attacking impetus to Jurgen Klopp's squad and, with Sanchez available for £35 million, a relative bargain in today's market, a bid for the 28-year-old seems to make flawless sense.
