Redmi 5/Redmi 5 Plus.

The device, originally priced at Rs. 14,999, is available at Rs. 12,999 on Flipkart. Similarly, Redmi 5 Plus will also be released in two memory/storage options including the 3GB/32GB and 4GB/6GB which are priced CNY 999 (about RM 618) and CNY 1299 (about RM 803) respectively.

Some of the specs were double-confirmed by a live photo which also revealed the Snapdragon chipset that will power the Redmi 5 phones. With the launch of the bezel-less Redmi 5 and Redmi 5 Plus, it will look to continue its success.

The Redmi 5 will arrive with 5.7” screen with the popular FullView display with 18:9 ratio.

The Redmi 5 is powered by a 1.8GHz octa-core Snapdragon 450 SoC with Adreno 506 GPU. As per previous reports, the handset is expected to come with a larger display measuring 5.5 inches and FHD+ resolution of 2160 x 1080 pixels. Both these phones will replace the Redmi 4 and Redmi 4 Prime that are on sale both in China and India. The Redmi 5 runs on MIUI 9 based on Android 7.1 Nougat. Xiaomi has remained mum on the specs and pricing so far, barring some key confirmations such as the 18:9 display, MIUI 9, and a massive battery. It comes with a 13MP rear camera: f/2.2 aperture, 5-element lens and PDAF for fast focusing and a 5MP front camera: f/2.0 aperture, Smart, and pro beautify features.

It is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor paired with 4GB RAM, 64GB internal storage (expandable up to 128GB). Specifically, Xiaomi has installed a 3300mAh battery into Redmi 5 while the Redmi 5 Plus features a larger 4000mAh battery.
