Uche Secondus Emerges PDP National Chairman

The newly elected National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP ), Uche Secondus has served a "quit notice" to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC ) party from the Aso Rock come 2019 and affirmed his commitment to rebuild the party to take back power by 2019.

He described the process as a charade and insisted that the development might destroy the party. Tunde Adeniran, have rejected the outcome of the party's national convention and the process that led to the emergence of key officers.

You will recall that i said that the PDP must be the ultimate victor at the end of the contest.God bless the Peoples Democratic Party.Congratulations PDP as i wish all our members the best of luck.

He explained that the 21 names of candidates contained in the list appeared on the ballot papers as number one and in the voting boots as number one.

Speaking with journalists in Port Harcourt on Friday, the Rivers State chairman of PDP, Chief Felix Obuah, said they (Rivers delegates) had endorsed Secondus as their sole candidate.

The vote came ahead of elections scheduled for February 2019. So, I believe that at this junction, it behoves upon us to come together as a party to rally round the new leadership so that we can reposition the party and salvage its fortunes with the electorate.

"Let us consider what the APC has achieved versus what they promised at election time: The APC promised us three million new jobs a year; in Government the APC has lost us three million jobs a year; the APC promised us peace and unity and under the APC Nigeria is now more divided and acrimonious than at any time since the civil war".

Earlier he had protested the distribution of "Unity List " to the delegates by unknown people on Saturday night.

Akeju, however, called on the Board of Trustees (BOT) of the party to takeover the affairs of the party until proper election would be conducted since the National Caretaker Committee has been dissolved.

Despite his initial protest, Dokpesi has now congratulated the new chairman, saying that he (Dokpesi) fought a good fight but only the PDP emerged victorious from the exercise.
