Overwatch Winter Event 2017 Kicks Off New Seasonal Skins and Content

Going by previous returning events, you can expect to see last year's Winter Wonderland rewards return in addition to new skins, emotes, sprays, and other cosmetics that will make their way into the loot boxes.

Just below, you can see the announcement video from the Overwatch dev team, revealing that the Winter Wonderland event would be returning to the game. Overwatch's winter event is back, bringing a bunch of new content to Blizzard's famous FPS.

Where previous events have been shrouded in mystery, Blizzard's Jeff Kaplan hinted at numerous things coming to this year's Winter Wonderland event in a developer update.

In addition to those three, Ana, Bastion, Soldier 76, and Sombra have new skins available for the Overwatch winter event 2017.

2016's winter skins cost 1000 credits for Legendary, 250 for Epic, 75 for Rare, and 25 for Common. Starting today and continuing on through January 1, you can traipse around in-game with a set of new wintry skins, play a new Brawl, and collect lots of new cosmetic items. In Yeti Hunt, five players play as Mei and go up against one Winston in a yeti skin, similar to the game Evolve.

We should also note that as with the Halloween Terror event in October, skins that debuted during last year's event will be making a return.

Also, Mei's Snowball Offensive mode has been shifted to the Black Forest arena map, which will feature an updated skin until the event's duration. Typically, events begin around 10 or 11 a.m. PT (1 or 2 p.m. ET, 6 or 7 p.m. UK) which is the same for this one.
