It is noteworthy that the Finnish company will host the launch event in China on Jan 19, which means initially both the phones - Nokia 9 and Nokia 8 (2018) will be available in China, and may hit other markets, including India late next year. The phone will be customized for a Chinese market, which is where it will likely release exclusively for the first part of the launch.

Holding HMD Global has expressed a desire to expand the list of Nokia smartphones in the near future will test on itself the IOS and Android 8. Just like Nokia 9, Nokia 8 will also have Snapdragon 835 processor and Android Oreo. It doesn't look like the Nokia 9 would have a full-screen display, however, the second gen Nokia 8 has been tipped to have an 18:9 aspect ratio screen. Nokia 9 has also leaked in images which shows the phone to come in three colour variants - black, blue and silver.

Addition to launch announcement, MyDrivers report has also leaked a screenshot that provides detail about the price of the Nokia 9. The company also kick-started its Android Oreo beta testing programme to test the new operating system on phones in the field. The phone will come in two RAM variants - one with 6GB RAM and 64GB storage while the high-end variant will come with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage.

There's even pricing information for the Nokia 9 - the 6GB/64GB model will go for CNY 3,699 ($558) while the 6GB/128GB variant will sell for CNY 4,199 ($634). The case also revealed that the handset will have finger print sensor and dual camera setup. And now, the company is in the process of treating its customers for its budget smartphone - the Nokia 3, with the goodness of Oreo. The Nokia 9 is expected to sport a design similar to the China-exclusive Nokia 7 smartphone with unibody metal construction and glass back.

It is expected that Nokia 9 will have 5.5-inch QHD display and will have Qualcomm Snapdragon 835. The cell phone will have no earphone jack.
